LAX 1Tears aren’t always because of sadness. I found myself sobbing while watching the opening of the Special Olympic Games here in Los Angeles. As my husband and I sat and watched all the athletes enter, I remembered so clearly the energy in every Special Olympian. Growing up, I had volunteered many times through my church for the Special Olympics.

This picture was in 1992 when I was a volleyball coach for a week long Special Olympic program held every Summer in Pennsylvania. I was a cabin leader as well as a volleyball coach and this was my cabin #7!

The Fit 2 Love Podcast show has been looking for a charity since I started the show. It only became obvious to me through my mountain of tears while watching the International Games here in Los Angeles that Special Olympics IS that charity!

LA games running 2015They represent strength, determination, courage, acceptance and JOY. The uncontrollable tears came from remembering that these athletes represent pure joy ALL DAY EVERYDAY! They hug each other, high five each other and are blessed with an intellectual disability that I believe keeps them happy, centered, in the moment and focused on accepting everyone for who they are, loving them, supporting them and encouraging them to be their best.Swimming 2

I am proud to announce we have found our charity!! Special Olympics IS Fit 2 Love!!!! The Fit 2 Love Podcast Show will make a monthly donation based on a percentage of revenue from products and sponsors and will also encouraging the community to click any of the links above to make a personal donation as well or to find out more about how to volunteer in person.  It can be life changing.LA games basketball 2015
